On My Hands and Knees

there i was on my way to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription when i realized i forgot to active the debit card for my health savings account. so i dial the number enter in the card digits then it tells me to enter a pin. i didn’t remember ever creating a pin but if i did i knew it would be one of only two possible combinations….neither was right. then i started to panic because i realized the company probably gave me a pin and was on the paper that i shredded because i am paranoid.

so there i was on my hands and knees digging through my trash and piecing together the pieces of small bit of what use to be a real document. when i finally solved the puzzle i read, “the pin will be mailed to you shortly.” go figure.

i still had to get that prescription regardless if i had that card or not so when i went to pay for it…just $10. apparently the old insurance company didn’t mind footing the bill…if i only knew this ahead of time.

working in a hospital, you see a lot of different things.  yesterday i walked into a room where the patient was very sick (and yes i applied purrel after).  he had bowl there to catch anything that “might be coming up.”  and for some reason i couldn’t resist, i had to look.  some people say they can’t handle it, but i find it interesting.  so if you were me, would you have snuck a peak?
